We have a large play hall which is used regularly for assemblies, group activities, entertainment and school plays and is integral to school life.
The Soft Play room is available for classes to use at regular times during the week. The OTs and Physiotherapists often use this area for therapy sessions.
There is a beautiful sensory garden and a purpose built playground outside. The Sensory Garden has had a recent refurbishment with thanks for Fingal County Council. There is also a “Liberty Swing” for wheelchair users.
Pupils have the use of a variety of bicycles and tricycles, many of which are designed for use by children with Special Needs.
Pupils can avail of some swimming sessions in the SMH Belcamp pool.
The school has a multi -sensory room that contains a large bubble tube, fibre optic lights, UV lights, two projectors, raised platforms for lying on, and comfortable seating. We are delighted and so grateful to receive an amazing donation of a Sensory Pod in our school. It has been installed by the team at Murray's Medical in our Soft Play Room and is an instant hit with our pupils. Pupils can sit inside, watch the colourful lights and listen to calming music. I think the staff might be queuing up to have a turn too! www.thesensorypod.ie
The school has two mobile interactive plasma screens, iPads for every classroom, sound beam equipment, three Eye Gaze devices, an AkKA (a platform for wheelchairs that can be operated by pupils) and a variety of assistive technology (hardware and software).
