Parents Association

The Parents’ Association was set up in 2009. The purpose of the Parents’ Association is to provide a structure through which the parents of the children attending the school can work together for the best possible education for their children. The Parents’ Association works with the Principal, staff and Board of Management to build an effective partnership between home and school.

All parents are deemed to be members of the Parents’ Association. Parents are elected to the committee at the AGM which is held during the first school term. Catherine Swords is the current Chairperson to the PA. There is a Parents’ Association notice board opposite the school office. Newsletters are produced during the school year with articles on future events and on information and activities of interest to parents. (See Appendix 1, page 39 for useful websites). The Parents’ Association meet regularly throughout the year for planning and discussions. If parents are not able to attend the meetings, there is also a ‘helper’ list, where parents can offer to be available to help with school events.
